Has anyone ever used their late 2009 iMac as a monitor by connecting to an OPPO BDP-105 player? For instance, will a HDMI to Apple Mini DisplayPort adapter work? The Blu-ray player has HDMI 1.0 and HDMI 2.0 out ports. I just need to set up the Blu-ray player, not to watch video. Thanks

Sorry but you cannot connect a DVD player to your iMac and use the iMac as a display. Also Mac OS does not support Blue Ray. If you want to use your DVD player, it must be connected to a TV.
OK, I am disappointed, but thanks for the quick response I really appreciate that. I'll have to find another workaround. I do have an old Elgato EyeTV device, perhaps they have a newer interface that would allow me to view the Blu-ray player's output.
