Apple tv app in not working on Samsung tv

I tried reinstalling the app, smart hub reset and even factory reset. Nothing works. Apple tv app opens and I can play the trailers but can’t login, it doesn’t even pops up the login page.

tried contacting samsung support, but they asked to contact apple support.

please help.

  1. Try if you can reset the Apple TV app. Should also be in the in-app Settings.
  2. Try a cold restart of the TV. Turn it off completely (maybe even disconnect from power for a minute), then turn it on again. Not standby/wake, but a real restart. Then try again.
  3. Check for TV system software updates/firmware updates. Then try again.
  4. Check for app updates, if not set to do so automatically. Then try again.
  5. Else ask Samsung for assistance.


AirPlay is independent of the Apple TV app, so you may have two separate issues.

I haven’t got any solutions from Samsung, they said it’s an Apple issue as other apps are working.

Apple support have said that they have escalated this to the engineering team.


My tv model is AU9007.

I was about to return this and buy AU9000. But thank you to inform about your issue. It looks like it’s a problem with series 9 tv or it’s firmware update.

Yesterday only I have got 1903 software update. But it didn’t solve the issue.

Let’s see what apple has to say.
