Airpods Max - Weird clicking sound when using.

Hello.

I bought the Airpods Max a few days ago, and they're absolutely great! But yesterday I discovered a rather unpleasant surprise, where my Airpods would make a little *click* sound when I moved my head. I do not think this is a software problem as they've just been bought, and I don't think it's a sound problem either. Every time I open my mouth or move my jaw, it just makes this *click* and it completely ruins the experience.

Are there any solutions to this?

PS. this is only in the left ear. Not in both

Hello JakobHald,

It sounds like you hear a clicking sound from the left side of your AirPods Max when you move your head.

While they are new, it can still be helpful to look into software and other isolation steps. Here are some resources that can help:

Test if this is happening when the sound is turned all the way down to see if it is mechanical.
Test when connected to a different device to see if it could be isolated to that particular device Set up AirPods Max with your Mac and other Bluetooth devices.
Reset them and try again How to reset your AirPods Max.
Test when using different modes AirPods Pro and AirPods Max Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode.

Thank you for the reply. It is the case that if it is mechanical, the best option will be to Contact Apple Support. As you've only had them for a few days, you can also check in with where they were purchased to see if you have any options there. However, this is something you should have resolved by a technician or the company.

Thank you for the recommendations, and it appears to be a mechanical problem. The software's up to date, the clicking sound still appears as the sound is turned down, and then the clicking still happens when I connect to my computer.

I really don't understand how this is happening, as I've treated these pairs of headphones with extreme caution.

But, I listened to it closely where the clicking sound came from, and it appears it comes from the top of the left ear cup.

And now, the clicking can also be heard when I tilt my head to the right.

I know this is where I call support and such but aren't there other solutions?
