I don't want my desktop or documents folders in icloud

I don't want my desktop or documents folders in iCloud. Why, other then to hijack everything on my computer, won't it release these items when I try to delete them?. At this rate, Apple is trying to make its ecosphere a giant server for everyones items. You might as well call any new iMac's, Mini's, etc., dummy terminals.

In Mac system preferences > Apple ID > iCloud Drive ( is turned on ) Use iCloud Drive to store documents on your Mac and iOS devices - Apple Support , click on options , the desktops and documents box is checked , it means what ever personal documents , or other data literally saved on desktop is saved in iCloud.com as well in finder > Documents , these are combinations , the desktops and documents individually can't split up ( as it's designed in this way only ) .

However the data literally on desktop screen can be dragged and dropped to some other location see the article Work with folders and files in iCloud Drive - Apple Support
