Microphone issue on my MAcBook Pro , but siri working.....

After I update my MAcBook Pro to MacOS Monterey version 12.1 , then I noticed that my Microphone is not working with any applications after while (after 1 or 2 hours) . I can't use my mac with meeting purposes and to record something ... It is weird issue. I reinstalled the apps and still not working.

To check if it's a microphone problem from settings, stil not working. Only siri working.

Looks like this is a software issue.

I saw online that , this problem getting common with others. How can solve this problem???? Please Help.

Hello Sanan13pro,

Apple Support Communities is a great place for help with the microphone on your Mac.

To confirm, the microphone appears to work with Siri, but not other apps and features. You’ve also verified that the Internal Microphone appears and is selected in System Preferences > Sound on the mac.

Those are great steps, and we’re glad you had the chance to verify that the Internal Microphone is selected. To confirm, have you verified the application in question has the correct audio input selected and not muted? If not, this can be a helpful step. If the issue is happening with multiple applications, try booting the Mac in to safe mode to see if the issue  persists. You can find the steps for booting in to safe mode in the article below.

How to use safe mode on your Mac

That article also outlines additional troubleshooting steps depending on the result. Please be sure to follow the right next steps if the issue does or does not continue.

Testing the issue in a new admin user account is also helpful in isolating the issue. When creating a new admin user account this is only temporary, and the account can be deleted after testing the issue . You can find the steps for creating a new admin user in the following article.

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Let us know how that goes!
