Can I use the Siri button on the new (or previous) Apple TV4K or HD remotes like a regular Siri device?
Example: Apple TV is off (sleeping). Can I pick up the remote, press the Siri button and say: “Turn off living room”? (Turns off all living room lights in smart plugs.)
I have a dead spot where HomePod mini does not hear me but, there is a Siri remote sitting right there.

Siri on Apple TV is really for interfacing with the Apple TV box, not for controlling HomeKit devices.
No, the remote only controls the ATV.
So, why is it called Siri?
Because that is the name of Apple’s virtual assistant. Even if the details of the functionality differ a bit on this device.

It distinguishes it from the original remote that did not allow you to access Siri on an Apple TV.
They should have called it Siri for full on Siri and call the crippled Apple TV Siri, a different name. They are not the same brand UX.
