Last week my beloved MacBook Pro A1502 suddenly died. The night before it was fine. Went to turn on next morning and nothing. No fan sound. No power. No lights. Nothing. I checked my charger. It seems fine. I did the reboot thing (Control,shift,option,power) suggestion. The charger changed from orange to green and back to orange. Still nothing. So I got a new battery. Installed it. Still nothing....

Disconnect the battery and try powering on the laptop using just the charger. A battery can prevent an Apple laptop from powering on or even charging. If the laptop powers on, then reconnect the battery while the laptop is still powered on and let the battery charge at least 10% before powering off the laptop or disconnecting the charger. You do need to be careful not to let any of the internal components come into contact with any metallic & conductive object or surface. You may need to try another SMC Reset if the laptop does now power on in this configuration.

Keep in mind the quality of third party Lithium-ion Batteries is extremely poor even when purchased from a respected vendor such as OWC or iFixIt. Those would be the only two vendors I would even consider if an official Apple battery replacement is not an option. Unfortunately if you did install a third party battery, then Apple will most likely refuse to repair the laptop now.
