HP SMART will not SCAN on Mac OS 12.0.1 (Monterey)

I installed HP SMART from the App Store and installed both of my HP wireless printers.

HP SMART requires users to Register by creating a new account or sign in to existing hp.com account.

Next you enter the printer model and the utility installs the correct printer drives.

That worked on my new iMac M1 (Dec 2021)

The printers worked right away.

The SCAN function failed - it went back to the Registration page, but never connected.

FIX:

The fix was to upgrade the Mac OS Monterey from 12.0.1 to 12.1

(NOTE: My 2013 Mac Pro was already running 12.1 and it has never had a problem with HP SMART)

ALSO:

Safari Preferences had pop-ups blocked for every web site.

The HP sign-in from HP SMART is a pop-up, so ALLOW support.hp.com in the Website pop-ups list.

I got no warning messages about a pop-up being blocked.
