HP G2 Thunderbolt Docking Station

Hello.

I have a 16-inch 2019 MacBook Pro running macOS Monterey 12.1. I connect it to dual monitors and other periferals using an HP Docking station (provided by work). I am having trouble getting the ethernet to work. When I boot into Windows using BootCamp it works perfect, and I have been able to upgrade to the latest firmware for the dock.

I have another 2018 MacBook running BigSur and the ethernet works there. Is there something I am missing?

Yes.

You need to ADD the interface in

system preferences > network ...

click on the Add [+] under the list of interfaces and select whatever your ThunderBolt to Ethernet calls itself. THEN it can be configured and used.

Remember that your Mac uses the TOPMost, Working interface for its internet connection. So use the gear Icon under the list of interfaces and select "Set Service Order" and Drag Ethernet to the top of the list.
