“This song is not available in your country or region”

Some of the songs in my ITunes library play fine on my desktop but when downloaded to my IPhone I get the message “This song is not currently available in your country or region”.

It appears to happen when it’s a cd which I’ve downloaded to my iTunes account on my desktop, not from music which has been purchased from the ITunes Store. For example I downloaded a Josh Groban cd and the first 3 songs play fine, the following 9 songs have that message. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi there Bill,

We'd like to help however we can to get those songs playing as expected on your iPhone.

Let's begin with better understanding what's happening, along with ruling out some basics:

  1. You mentioned that you didn't purchase the affected songs from the iTunes Store, but you downloaded it to your Windows PC from a CD. Are all songs downloaded from a CD affected, or only this specific album?
  2. Do you currently have an active Apple Music subscription, or an iTunes Match subscription?
  3. If these same songs worked without any issues in the past, when did this first start?
  4. As you have a compatible model, the latest version is iOS 15.2.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  5. If you have another device other than your PC and iPhone SE, does the same issue occur on it?

Cheers!
