Not in the status bar; there isn’t room on phones with Face ID. You can swipe down from the battery icon to open the Control Center, which shows the battery percentage, or you can add a battery widget to the Home screen→Use widgets on your iPhone and iPod touch - Apple Support. There are several choices of battery widgets available; here’s the one that I have on my Home screen:
