FCPX Crash problem

Please post an Etrecheck report from https://etrecheck.com, which will provide information about what might be going on. Give the application Full Disk Access in Privacy System Preferences, and use the "Additional text" button at the bottom of the reply box to paste the copied report. 

Two little additions to what Al said:

1) whenever the application crashes you need to delete its preferences

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.

The application will start in a default state, and open an “Untitled” library.

Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.

2) Chrome and its cronies actually corrupt FCP, so AFTER you have completely removed them you need to delete and redownload FCP.

Also please post another Etrecheck report to make sure that they are all gone.

One other thing: you do not need and should uninstall the portable ssd driver. Your mac can handle your Samsung or other SSD without additional software. Third party disk software are a common cause of problems.

You have a lot of plugins by PFS. Plugins may need to be updated... and this developer does not have a very good reputation.

I'd check for updates and consider uninstalling those plugins and see if the crashes persist.

Completely remove Google Chrome and try again.

You might also try testing the system with a new admin user.

Always trash prefs after a crash as they can be corrupted when the application isn’t correctly closed.

It’s crashing on a new admin user? If so I would suggest a clean wipe and system reinstall, migrating only the user.
