Is there a way to set an emergency contact phone number to ring through on a silenced phone?

If you are referring to your phone being on Mute or Do Not Disturb, the way to get a call from a person to ring with sound at that point is to go to the emergency contact's card in Contacts. Once on the card, tap on Edit in the upper right corner then go to their Ringtone. At the top of that page once it opens is a switch titled Emergency Bypass. Turn that on. After that, tap on Done. With that on, it allows the phone to produce the ringtone sound even while the phone is set to Mute or Do Not Disturb. This ring through is only valid for that individual contact. If you wish to allow this for anyone else, you would need to configure their individual contact card as well.

Hi Apple-support2,

It sounds like you're wondering if you can get calls from specific callers when your iPhone is silenced. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities. Let's see if this helps.

With iOS 14 or earlier, there's a feature called "Allow Calls From" (or "Allowed Notifications" if you're using iOS 15 or later) that allows calls to ring through from specific callers when your phone is on Do Not Disturb or a Focus. Check out, "Change your Do Not Disturb settings" in Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch for more information.

We hope that helps with your question and take care!
