Connect new MacBook Air to VGA monitor

My wife just got a new MacBook Air. We’d like to connect it to the monitor she was using for her old Mac Mini. It’s got a VGA port. Would a USB C to VGA cable like the one in the link work?

Hello,

Not entirely sure if this is the MacBook Air model your wife has but if so, yes it should work.
