No longer seeing workout route on Fitness app map with Series 5

I searched the topics but didn't find this exact situation. I have Apple Watch Series 5 and iPhone 7+.

I just realized I'm no longer seeing the route displayed on my workouts. I looked back and it appears the route details stopped showing up around May 1 of 2021. I currently have software v8.3 on the watch and 15.2 on the iPhone. I have lots of capacity available on both devices.

I did an internet search and per those instructions turned Location Services "off" and back "on" in iPhone Privacy settings. I also toggled the Apple Watch Workout from "While using" to "Never," then back to "While using" in the Privacy Settings > Location Services. That didn't help.

I'm hoping someone has a solution.

I have the exact same problem and so does my wife. It was working fine during spring and summer when we were using it for biking but now that we are using it for skiing (and walks) and it doesn't work. We tried all the suppossed "fixes"; location services, wrist detection, etc. including everything from this article:

I unpaired my watch and set it up as a new watch NOT from a backup. Nuthin! I know the GPS works because we are using the Slopes app and it tracks our runs properly on a map. It's ridiculous that this is such a problem. For the time being we'll use Slopes but it would be nice to have everything integrated.

Another place to check is on the watch in settings/privacy/Location Services and make sure this is turned on and scroll down to apple watch workout and select while using the app.
