Hi JoyGupt,

We understand you're missing notifications for messages on your iPhone since updating. Are you noticing the issue for certain contacts or all? Does the issue return immediately after restarting your iPhone? Have you checked your device to determine if the "Don Not Disturb" or "Focus" feature is turned on? When using the Focus feature, it will prevent certain notifications from appearing on your device. This article provides more information on the feature.

Use Focus on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Yes. It has been happening ever since iOS 15. I have done absolutely everything. Focus off. Sleep off. Both deleted. Reset. Changed notification for every single app. Making sure priority. It. Is. Still. Happening. This is nuts. Come on Apple. If I have to spend 40 hours doing your troubleshooting for you, I expect to be paid for time!

Hi !

I have same issue but not only on the messenger. Not even incoming calls are displayed through the messenger.

Gmail doesn't update mail in the background. Mail will only be downloaded when I open the app.

Incoming Imessage messages do not appear on the locked screen even though everything is enabled for it.

This is the worst sw version I have come across in the last 6 years.

I called apple support but they couldn't give any real help. It has been constantly argued that these are external improvements and so Apple can’t do anything about these issues. I didn’t have any similar issues with the previous version, so it’s clear to me that this is a bug in Apple sw. I want to dowgrade the sw but I can't officially do it so I may have to look for another solution.

I’ve been having issues with notifications disappearing when I haven’t even cleared them or tapped on them… especially while I’m listening to my music… my notifications are on, too… like they appear on my Lock Screen but while I’m using my phone they disappear… like especially while I’m on Twitter and Instagram… even Chrome…

I have had this problem. Recently updated to iOS 15.2.1 Apple Watch connected. No notifications showing on my watch and phone where they used to. Is this a new feature? How can I turn it off so I can get notifications on both phone and watch? I have restarted but not changed anything. Focus and do not disturb all turned off. Happening on both an iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone SE and very frustrating.

Thanks but it has only happened for me since the later updates. Previously, I was getting notifications on both. How can I disable ‘wrist detection’ so I can get them on both?

No, you weren’t getting notifications on both. No one has ever gotten notifications on both with wrist detection on. Open the Watch app, go to Passcode, and you can turn off wrist detection. However, when you go to turn it off first read the display of the features that will be disabled with it off. If receiving notifications on your phone is more important than any of those features then continue and turn it off.

I didn’t until I upgraded to ios 15.2.1 and I am a beta tester. Really frustrating! Heres the fix!

1) disable focus by turning off Share Across All Devices

2) Go to settings-notifications

3)Tap scheduled summary and make a pretend schedule

4) go back out to notifications

5) scroll down to notification style

6) tap on each app and immediately delivery is now an option and bypasses the schedule. I did this 36 times. 🤦🏻‍♀️
