IOS 15.2.1 taking too much space on iPad Air

iPad os 15.2.1 is supposed to be 8.19 gb however seems to be taking up at least 30 gb of space on my 64gb iPad Air 3.

Is storage bug still up or was it fixed?

between iOS, apps and data i should not be occupying more than 30 gb on my device. It shows 55.7 gb are taken! I start deleting apps and i/o liberating space, space gets smaller! It’s crazy!

Please help!

Something is definitely not as it should be. Begin with a forced restart of your iPad, as this is often helpful is resolving system-level issues:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

After restarting, re-appraise your storage use.
