How to re-pair bluetooth device on MacBook Pro/Monterey

I'm using Monterey on my MacBook Pro.

I deleted the Yamaha receiver from my Bluetooth device list, now I can't find any way of adding it to my bluetooth devices. My MacBook is discoverable and the Yamaha searched for devices.

The Bluetooth preferences have no option to add devices. I attempted to fix it by removing my bluetooth plist, but the effort was unsuccessful.

How do I add the receiver again after deleting it?

MacBook Pro 13″, 10.12

Perhaps it's semantics, but if you deleted the Yamaha received from the Bluetooth devices on your Mac, that means you need to re-add it to the list by pairing it again. In that case, the Yamaha receiver needs to be put into discoverable mode (whether or not the the Mac is discoverable is irrelevant in this case). Check the manual for the receiver to see how to make it discoverable, then pair it. That would enable you to send audio from your Mac to the receiver, which I presume is your goal.

The Bluetooth preference pane will show nearby devices that are discoverable. For headphones, typically that means powering them off then back on but continuing to hold the power button. Probably more complicated for the Yamaha receiver.
