How to add downloaded music to library

This is so outrageous. I am new to iphone. I have downloaded a simple mp3 music file from internet. Safari downloaded it and its icon and info shows that iphone sees it as a voice recording. I looked all the options to see if there is any options for adding to library. There is none!!! Its just copy move and other things. It also has the option to copy to pdf expert but not music library!!! And i am searching all over the web for an answer. People have mentioned lots of solutions like connect your computer and sync with itunes. Dude! Its just a music file. I want to be able to download it with my iphone and play it. I dont want to open my laptop and connect the iphone and sync it every time i want to add a music. Just please someone has any remedy for this nightmare?

Thanks for reaching out, Hafez Guardian.

We understand that you're having some difficulty downloading music to your iPhone. We can help.

You mentioned that you were trying to download an .MP3 file to your iPhone, but found it did not play the way you were expecting. The reason for this is, while you can import .MP3 files into some apps such as Voice Recordings or GarageBand, music on Apple devices uses a different format altogether - .AAC.

You can follow these steps to Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer, on either a Mac or Windows PC. This will take your .MP3 files and convert them to the correct format for use on an iPhone, and appropriately upload them to the device.

On the other hand, if you would prefer to avoid using a computer, an Apple Music subscription offers both streaming music from Apples extensive music catalog, as well as the option to download music for offline play. You can learn more here: Apple Music.

Hope that helps.

Take care!

We can appreciate where you're coming from, Hafez Guardian.

While we understand that this step might seem inconvenient, or unnecessary, consider that Apple has gone the extra mile with audio quality and used the Advanced Audio Coding (.AAC) format and iTunes to convert audio files since the first iPod was released in 2001.

This isn't by accident either, as the .AAC format is superior to .MP3 in many ways including better audio playback quality for the same file size, encoding with a greater variety of samples, and supports a larger number of audio playback channels which results in better sounding music than possible with .MP3 formats.

That said, you are certainly welcome to share your thoughts and leave Product Feedback about your experience.

Hope that helps.
