problems accessing dropbox

Hi all,

Since the latest OSX update I can no longer access Dropbox on one of the Macs in the business.

  • The Dropbox icon went missing & saved docs are not being updated on the Dropbox account.
  • I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app - no joy. An error message pops up stating "couldn't start Dropbox - ....usually a permissions error."
  • However, I have made no settings changes, but cannot figure out what the problem is and more importantly how to resolve this.
  • There are no such issues on other Macs and MacBooks which were updated successfully.

Have to say this is the latest in a line of problems with Macs so a bit frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We understand that you're experiencing issues using Dropbox on one of the Macs in your business. We'd like to get you pointed towards a resolution. Based on what you've described, we recommend trying to use Dropbox on the affected Mac in safe mode as outlined here: How to use safe mode on your Mac


If the behavior persists we also recommend attempting a new user account on the Mac. We hope that this helps isolate what you're experiencing.
