When phone is plugged in using Carplay. Calls are routed to my Phonak hearing aids instead of car speakerphone.

Iphone 11. IOS 15.2.1. Paired with Phonak heading aids under bluetooth.

When riding in Chevy Car with Carplay cable connection to phone and streaming podcasts (Spotify), Sometimes incoming or outgoing phone calls are routed to my Phonak hearing aids instead of car speakerphone. I have not determined the root cause of this behavior yet. Anyone else having issues with this?

Any suggestions on a workaround to ignore streaming to hearing aids only when Carplay is active and phone is plugged into car?

Check to see the option in Settings/Accessibility/Hearing Devices/Audio Routing and check to see the option For Call Audio and Media Audio. I leave mine set to Automatic.

Thanks for your inputs. In my case, my hearing aids are paired using the myPhonak hearing aid app. After these are paired, they show up as Bluetooth devices. I don't have any hearing devices listed in the Hearing Devices menu.

I think this might have helped the behavior. I think it has still occurred a couple of times, but it has occurred less often now. Thanks.
