iPhone 13 Pro Bluetooth Mic Quality Terrible

I just picked up an iPhone 13 Pro, switching over from a Samsung S21 Ultra. When I'm connected to any bluetooth device, the audio quality of my voice through the mic is terrible. I use Whatsapp regularly and all my voice messages sounds muffled and tinny. I get the same sound quality issues using the iPhone's voice memo app. Using the Airpod Pros the quality is a little better, but nowhere near as clear as using the phone's mic.

I'm on iOS version 15.2.1. Music and voice messages I receive sound good, it's only the outgoing voice from me that has terrible audio quality. With the S21 Ultra, there was no noticeable difference in my voice quality while connected to any bluetooth device vs the phone's mic, all were clear and full.

I did exactly the same voice tests with 5 different devices from different brands and got the exact same results.

I feel like more people need to be made aware of this issue because it's a major issue!

I need to find a solution for this

Nobody seems to be aware of this major bug, or maybe it's a feature to sell more airpods?!

It being Apple with their walled garden, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a "feature" to sell more Airpods. Oh well! I'll just stick with Android

people are also frustrated that their problem is beeing dismissed.

Regarding the airpods voice memos sounding better on android: I replied on the above thread after I was at the apple store.

I was shocked of the result! Even the apple worker said the recording on android sounds better than on iPhone!!

Where are the apple specialists here??

What is the problem with Apple??! I’ve owned nothing but Android phones for 20 years. Always had clean and clear voice recordings. (I worked in radio for over 30 years, so great sound quality matters to me.) But then my wife talked me into getting an iPhone 13. Surprisingly I loved it. UNTIL I recorded my outgoing voice message. What the ****??! The sound quality is about 8 times worse than a a portable cassette recorder from 1985, that’s been stored in someone’s garage for 30 years. The microphone on my iPhone 13 is GARBAGE! Honestly I expected far better quality from Apple. And they’ve not yet corrected the problem?? Unacceptable! My next phone will be an Android.

I’ve also recently bought my first iPhone, a 13 Pro.

I also have major issues with the audio quality of voice messages - never experienced such with my Android phones.

This is very devastating, I cannot record a voice message via WhatsApp walking the streets. All I get is distorted white noise.

I have paid over 1100€ for that thing.

After searching and speaking with tech support, the only idea I had left was to return the iPhone. I'll just be sticking with my Samsung.

A normal hearing test. And objectively speaking you can clearly tell the difference apart. I wish I could Upload some audio files here to prove my point

If you are referring to just listening with your ears that would be subjective not objective unless you are doing double blind testing.
