I need to unlock the locked folder on iCloud.

In the iCloud—Desktop I have a folder.  Name is —> HideItBig

This “HideItBig” folder is locked, so when I try to update or delete some files

or folders in “HideItBig”, I can’t do it.

Either because I have locked the folder or because I have placed the folder

in the iCloud, I can not do it.

I want to unlock  “HideItBig” folder.  But I can’t.

I am attaching 2 screenshots to my post:

  1. “Screen shot of locked folder. Folder is on iCloud” and

  2. “Error message I get when I try to delete the folder that is on iCloud.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

You have changed the read and write permissions for locked folder see the article If you need permission to open an item on Mac - Apple Support

Organise files and folders in iCloud Drive on iCloud.com - Apple Support

If you can’t change the permissions, contact an administrator of your Mac or the owner of the file or folder.

Read Change permissions for files, folders or disks on Mac - Apple Support

Open the small golden lock , authenticate with admin password , uncheck the box of locked , close the window and then again open finder , if there are any files inside it drag and drop to other location , right click on the folder and delete .

Also if permissions has been changed in the files or subfolders inside the locked folder , that has also be to be changed to normal permissions as shown in the screen shot .
