Premiere Pro 2022 M1 MacBook Pro slow/lagging playback

Hey,

I have a Macbook Pro 8/256 gb with a M1 chip.

I use Premiere Pro for video editing (7 gb are available for PP performance).

I do simple video editing with full HD 60 FPS footage (ca. 1h). Not many special efffects etc.

When I do the cutting the program and the video + sound starts lagging. I have to wait a few seconds until I can start the playback of the video to cut. But when I cut the lagging start again. This should not be the case, since its the latest version of PP and I think it supports the M1 chip.

Anyone who had similar problems or tips?

Thanks

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.1

turns out Premiere 22.2.2 is buggy. downgrade to 22.1.2 and it works as it should be.

@innokentiy, FC feels smoother than Premiere, but it demands more disk space as it creates a lot of stuff, as pre-renders (which you can disable) or proxies. I got 700GB FC project size for 60GB of original media. But I learnt it in just one day and love the timeline and the options thought it is more limited than Premiere (no integration with after effects, no panels customization, tools aren't shown at once and so on) Timeline shows all the frames as iOS or iMovie does, so quite fast finding a specific frame, and scrubbing feels smooth and so fast is amazing (4K stuff REAL time)

Render time with compressor also amazing, with half CPU usage (I could edit Lightroom pics no lag in the meanwhile), 22 minutes render time for a 2 hours HD H265 file
