Problems creating a new google account on macOS Monterey 12

I tried to create a new google account to synch my mac with my google calendar but I get this pop-up. If I click on "Open browser" it just waits and waits... but on google I am logged in on my account so I'm not sure what am I expected to do... but the fact is that I can't add a new google internet account - it just gets stuck.

...and this is the screen I get after pressing "open browser". I do open my browser I'm already logged in and so, how to move on from this point?
