Lost and confused with iCloud Drive (Archive)
I'm befuddled by how iCloud is supposed to be working. I have it turned on for virtually everything (including Desktop and Documents). I also have an iCloud Drive (Archive) on my MBP. The latter has way more files than iCloud itself. Furthermore, documents I'm saving from various apps are going to the Archive folder instead of iCloud (where I have a ton of space). I'd like to do the following:
- Synch the two environments (I have ChronoSync but it can't "see" the iCloud environment--it appears to only be able to deal with local storage)
- Point apps to save files to iCloud
- Remove the Archive folder
- Caveat--Since there are folders that I don't want on iCloud (e.g., my Downloads folder), how can I preserve those locally?
Any advice would be appreciated.
