How do I get my mac back

How do I get my mac applications back from the Cloud? Everything is slow to start, to find, to do anything. Search shows I have three desktops. It is a mess.  “About this Mac” takes 10-15 seconds to load. Siri takes for ever to load. I have tons of room on my iMac. It’s like having all your kitchen utensils in storage somewhere else every time you need anything.
