Can not set Spam / Junk folder in iOS 15

My mail provider has a spam junk folder named 'spam'. this is where they drop off spam according and I can set online rules for mail to be labelled spam.

In mail on Mac you can select this folder as the "junk" mail folder and the Mac will drop the spam mail in that folder.

On iOS this option is missing for me in iOS 15. I think I used to have that option (not sure anymore now) and online it seems to be the case that you can select is in the settings > mail > accounts > advanced. But this is not the case. Neither iOS nor iPadOS

Is there any way where you can select a junk folder on iOS with an IMAP mailbox (not iCloud).

Right now I have 2 spam boxes.

Hi @barberlives123

Sorry, but it is a different problem. My mailbox has the following folder structure

|- Inbox

|- Sent

|- Draft

|- Archive

|- Spam <- this is the folder where Mac mail, the provider and other apps drop the spam/junk mail

|- etc.

|- etc.

I can not tell iOS to do the same. If I mark a message as spam it creates a new folder |- Junk .

So every app drops spam in the Spam folder except iOS mail. they drop it in the Junk folder.

How can I fix it so that iOS mail also uses the Spam folder for spam mail?

P.s. it is no use to tell Mac mail to drop the spam in the Junk folder as the provider keeps dropping in the Spam folder.

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, Neuerburg.

If we understand your post correctly, you're not seeing the same options to sort mail into a folder on your iPhone that you see on your Mac. We’d like to help.

You mentioned that your mail provider has a spam folder and you're able to set rules for sorting into that folder using webmail. This feature means you don't need to set up the folder and rules on each device. You can make the folder visible in Mail with these steps:

Organize email in Mail on iPhone

Let us know if that resolves this issue for you.
