Macbook Air will not take a charge, the fan runs in overdrive. runn extremely slow.

I have 5 macbook airs that have been in their boxes for 2.5 years. I went ot use them and they will not take a charge, the fan runs in overdrive. If they do startup they run extremely slow. What do I do to get them working?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Go to utilities folder and open activity monitor and look for runaway processes in cpu and memory You can use kill to stop the processes and then decide if you need to remove them. Any antivirus, disk cleaning and defrag apps should be deleted If the app has no uninstall feature lookup on line for how to. If using vpn delete it.
