Since updating to iOS 15.3, my car won't stay connected; bluetooth keeps connecting and disconnecting

I've never had this issue before this update - but now, my phone keeps disconnecting from bluetooth in the car, and then back on again (every 30s cycle or so); I have an Audi 2012 - so this is bluetooth only - not CarPlay.... although my phone also is having issues with this iOS version on CarPlay in a 2022 Edge.

I have:

  • rebooted the phone
  • turned off the bluetooth on the phone and restarted
  • removed the car from the list of remembered devices and re-connected from scratch
  • turned off my iWatch completely (as this was in some discussions as a potential fix); this did not fix the disconnect behaviour

I have repeated the above steps in multiple sequences, to no avail.

Any other suggestions from anyone?

All I can ask of Apple is to please fix bluetooth issues in the next dot-release asap.

15.4.1 resolved this issue, although I did have to remove and then re-pair the bluetooth with my cars.

I have a 2014 BMW and an iphone 11. I spoke with Patrick at Apple for at least an hour yesterday, resetting the network, reconnecting to bluetooth, etc., Still a problem, but he hadn't heard of it before and is working on it. I expect to hear from him the end of next week and will post an update. SO frustrating! For me, if I try to use Siri to dial, no sound whatsoever out of the speakers and I can see the call connected on the iphone screen. Can't talk because can't hear...and then call drops.

So, this is apparently not limited to only car bluetooth for calls: I just got off the phone with my sister. I was listening to a podcast with Tozo earbuds for about an hour. When she called, I clicked through and talked for about 3 minutes and then it disconnected. I called her back with Siri and it didn't connect for audio, although she could hear me. Then the earbuds disconnected. I ended up talking with her directly on the phone, then re-established a Bluetooth connection for the podcast with no problem. So this is a Bluetooth by iPhone PHONE issue only. I have Verizon. I don't think it's the service provider, but please post who your service provider is so that Apple technical support will have that information as well.

Thanks.

The same problem I have with my Audi Q5 2019. BT worked simply PERFECTLY till I upgrade my iphone 11 with iOS 15.3.1. Now I'm permanently suffering of problem of unpredictable behavior of BT - phone it loosing BT connection in a middle of conversation, after re-connnection it manualy the same problem repeating again and again. I tried unpairing/pairing of device - helpless. I tried by pairing with another iphone 11 (iOS 15.3.1.) - result exactly the same.

Apple support, do your job, please fix a bug ASAP!!!!!!!!!

Or we need to downgrade our devices??????

I am having problems with 15.4.1 connected to a 2017 Audi.

It connects perfectly but if anything interrupts the audio then nothing works.

e.g.

I connect & play music over spotify. If I receive a call while listening to spotify the call will work fine, but when the call finishes BT doesnt work, no spotify or no phone.

Another example when watching youtube while connected to BT (dont worry....not while driving), when an add is played on youtube the audio often drops after the add finishes
