Since updating to iOS 15.3, my car won't stay connected; bluetooth keeps connecting and disconnecting

Hi all,

i have a new iPhone 13 with iOS 15.3.1 and the phone doesn’t Connect automatically to the Opel Zafira carkit. I can manual connect but after a few seconds the call ends and the Bluetooth connecting is lost.

after Some time I can manually reconnect.

Thank you all people. I tried everything. I have an Audi A4 2016 and use my iPhone 8 with Tune 2 Air. Never had any problems but since the last update the music doesn’t play with bluetooth anymore.

Hope Apple will fix the problem. I am not planning to buy an new car.

I am having similar issues with my Infiniti QX 60. It will connect, and then not disconnect after the phone call is hung up. I have to turn off the Bluetooth on the iPhone and then re-enable it. I have tried completely racing and restoring the phone in the car multiple times with zero success. It worked flawlessly for two years prior.

Hang tight. When Apple has screwed up Bluetooth connectivity they don’t acknowledge it, they just fix it. It’ll get fixed, we all just suffer in the meantime while waiting for the fix.

I have the same issue. I have a 2011 BMW and my Bluetooth connection drops after connecting to a call. This started after I upgraded to iOS15.3.1. I’m hoping Apple has a solution as I am not ready to get a new car.

• often losing / reestablish connection without any call or touching phone at all

ever since updating to iOS 15 Bluetooth has become very dodgy. Dropping Bluetooth randomly while driving. Now with 15.3 it’s even worse. If I make a call I can’t disconnect when I choose to or it just kicks Bluetooth off…. Wish I’d never upgraded to 15

Same here, Audi A3 / 2009 with RNS-E. Randomly disconnects and reconnects - breaking up etc. Seems to work sometimes as call has been initiated without BT and moving it over to the Handsfree then. Glad to read it‘s not only me!

Still happening here with my iPhone 12 and 2014 QX60.

Connects and shows a on with Bluetooth, but nothing. Have to switch to speaker or phone or hear. Then after hanging up it will not disconnect. I have to turn Bluetooth off in settings on the phone to disconnect.

Will occasionally work for a single call and then Does the above. Happens every single drive.

Ugh. So frustrating. Especially so when you live in a "hands free" law state. It makes you feel incompetent when it is a professional call, too. I hope they get it resolved soon. I begged to let me revert to 14 but they said it isn't possible.

This was a temporary fix on my phone--it worked for a call or two and then just stalled and eventually disconnected. Calls through Siri went completely silent--no Siri response, no dialing sounds, no sounds when the call was answered...and then dropped completely after a few seconds.

So frustrating - 14 plate Vauxhall Astra with exactly the same issues you describe. No automatic connection to Bluetooth unless manually selected. Then when making calls through car speaker system call crashes & ‘ no phone available’ appears on screen.

I’ve only just got back the ability to listen to music stored on my iPhone in the car after a previous iOS update mucked that up completely now this! Come on Apple sort out all of these glitches asap!!

Same Issue. Bluetooth works for the first call and then disconnects, otherwise. Extremely annoying as this was not an issue prior to the more recent software update.

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Apple, if you are going to "control" the updates on our phones, please correct this issue.

I have 14 plate Astra and have exact issue as you describe, I thought I might need to have the firmware updated before finding this thread. I have remove the phone from the the device list in the car, removed the car from the list on the phone and reset the phone settings in the car. No luck, lets hope Apple fix this soon!

Same issue, connects and disconnects after a few seconds. Cant use steering controls to answer or hang up. Audi A3 2011, iPhone 11. They have asked me to travel to store for iPhone repair but I feel like this is a waste of time if its an iOS issue. Hoping its sorted ASAP as I drive a lot for work.
