Spilled soup on my MacBook air

I spilled soup on my MacBook Air (2020). I immediately cleaned up the liquid but obviously some of it got under the keyboard. As of right now, it turns on fine and the display is fine but the keyboard and cursor pad won’t work. How bad is the damage?

I plan on taking it to a repair shop but won’t be able to for another 5-6 days due to the nearest certified shop being almost 100km away, my work schedule and bad weather preventing me from driving there. Will having to wait a few days make the potential damage long term?

MacBook Air 13″, 11.6

Liquid damage is often extensive and ongoing due to corrosion. You should shut down your computer until it can be examined by an authorized service center.
