iPhone 8 keeps shutting down

My iPhone 8 keeps shutting down on a full battery unless it’s plugged into the charger. When it’s unplugged it’ll last all of 10 minutes before turning off.

it won’t turn back on either unless I plug it in. And at some points it will say that it’s got a low battery when I turn it back on even though it was fully charged 5 minutes ago. I’ve been told by a phone repair shop that it needs a new battery but I’m unsure if that’s the case?

Thank you for your reply

i advice you to update your iPhone to the lasts update version But if you don't solve your problem, you'll have to factory reset. You can do it by going to settings >General >transfer or reset>erase all contact and settings or you can do it through your computer using iTunes through the steps in the following link:

⚠️

But before you factory reset, I want to ask you a question, please, have you changed the battery before?

and do you have a message that the battery must be changed. You can find it by going to settings >battery > battery health. If you have a message, it will be at the top of the page.
