External Webcam and Photobooth

I have been trying to use a Logitech C920 webcam with Monterey 12.2. Works fine, except in Photo Booth. That seems to hate external webcams, or maybe just webcams that are connected through a thunderbooth dock through a KVM switch. I have work laptop and Macbook Pro 16" both using the same desk set up (two monitors, keyboard, mouse, USB microphone, speakers, and webcam.)

I will troubleshoot by plugging the camera directly to the Macbook, but I wanted to check to see if this incompatibility was happening to anyone else? Photobooth recognizes the camera, I can watch myself as I record video, but when done, I get an unusuable video file.
