Recovering a document

Is it possible to recover a deleted document on my Ipad Word program. When I check on “files”, it doesn’t offer any options.

Hi Suzi10,

It appears you are wondering if there is a way to recover a deleted document. To clarify, was this a Pages document or a Microsoft Word document? To clarify, was the file saved in iCloud Drive? You mentioned the Files app. Did you check the Recently Deleted folder in the Files app? Additional details can help determine possible next steps.

We do want to let you know that if it was deleted and was saved in iCloud Drive and not backed up, it could be possible that it cannot be recovered. If needed, you can also check out the information, from the following article, to see if it helps: Access and manage your files in iCloud Drive - Apple Support

"Recover deleted files

If you need to access a file that you deleted within the last 30 days, follow these steps to get it back.

On your Mac

  1. Click Trash in the Dock.
  2. Select the file that you want to keep.
  3. Drag it to the desktop or another folder.

If you delete files from your Trash via the Empty Trash option, the files can't be recovered.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Learn how to recover deleted files in the Files app

On iCloud.com

  1. Sign in to iCloud.com.
  2. Go to iCloud Drive.
  3. In the bottom-right corner, select Recently Deleted items.
  4. Browse the list of files.

You can also go to Settings > Restore Files. After 30 days, files are removed from Recently Deleted and Restore Files.

On your PC

  1. Go to the Recycle Bin.
  2. Drag the file or folder to your desktop or another location."

Best wishes.
