Apple Pencil 2 does not work

I have brought an Apple Pencil 2 for my new iPad Pro & I have followed the instructions on the brochure, but unfortunately it didn’t work, it shows that the pencil is is paired &charging but when I try to use it, it doesn’t work at all. I have checked the Bluetooth connection and the tip of the pencil looks good also.

what should I do ?

If you plug it into the iPad, does it show fully charged then a low number? (like 3). It could be your battery is dead, that's what happened to mine. Apple store told me they wouldn't replace it even though I had never used it (it was beyond the warranty time). I contacted Apple (via 1 800 number) and talked to an advisor.... they sent me a replacement.
