Date Stamp on All Products Shows Incorrect Minute

Ever since my MacBook Air 2011, anything that has involved a date stamp always shows the correct hour, but the minute is always ":08". For example, when I check my iMessages, it says all incoming messages came in at "18:08", even though they certainly did not. The time displayed on my screen saver says "16:08", even though that is not the correct minute.

I've done the Date & Time thing, where I have it automatically set to my time zone and sets the date and time automatically, so it's not that. I've tried entering it manually, then changing back to setting it automatically, and that doesn't work. I just got the latest MacBook Air and this problem still persists. It's not taking away from me getting anything out of this product, but it's a slight annoyance. All the items in Support have been tried, so don't bother telling me those again. I am just hoping to make this aesthetically pleasing—and correct—again.

Thanks.

FINALLY! Thank you so much!

Went to "Date & Time" in System Preferences, then Open Language & Region Preferences, and found "United States - Custom" was selected. Absolutely no idea how that ever happened, but it has been fixed. Never thought to check further than "Date & Time" and "Time Zone" and got frustrated when those were both correct and the issue still persisted.

Thanks again for the assistance!
