Workaround for “Cannot sign in to iCloud.” error message when

trying to Sign In to the “iCloud for Windows” app.

Uninstall the “iCloud for Windows“ app. [Start/Settings/Apps]

Download the “iCloud for Windows” installation program from the Apple website.

Go to the Apple.com website.

Search the Apple.com website for the web page “Download iCloud for

Windows” .

The web page is located at the URL: on https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204283

Scroll down on the web page to the section “Here’s what you need

Click on the link on the line “On the line “On Windows 7 and Windows 8,

you can “download iCloud for Windows on Apple’s website.” to download the “iCloud

for Windows” installation program.

Note: You will need to use an User Account that has Administrator privileges to install the iCloud for Windows app and enable the Media Features for Windows (aka. Windows Media Player).

Before installing the “iCloud for Windows” app you will need to make sure that the Media Features for Windows is enabled.

In the Open dialog box type optionalfeatures.exe and press the Enter key.

On the Windows Features dialog box scroll down and make sure there is a check in the checkbox beside Media Features.

Have same problem. Fresh downgrade from Win11 (aka reinstall Win10), did it yestrday. User calls me today with this problem, got no idea how to solve it. What I tried so far.

  • reinstall Office 2016 with restart of computer
  • install iTunes with restart of computer
  • countless reinstall of iCloud from Microsoft Store with restart of computer
  • installed Bonjour SDK with restart of computer (for some reason it was not installed with either Win10 installation, iTunes or iCloud)
  • loging in from web browser - Chrome - it works
  • setup on my own gaming rig at home with my own apple ID, same error

Googling this issue is a pain by itself bkz 90% of solutions are for Mac, and the ones for Win are not helping

Same issue on my HP ZBook G5 laptop with Windows 10. Not sure if it's related, but my BIOS updated just before I discovered this problem yesterday. Now I cannot log in to iCloud and get the same error message ....

Well, first of all, this is not a Mac. It's a Windows 10 laptop. I can successfully access my Apple account via iTunes on this PC and my Apple ID is "authorized" according to iTunes. So here's what I've tried so far with no success ...

  • Restart the PC and try to log in again.
  • Add/Remove Programs - iCloud - Repair.
  • Add/Remove Programs - iCloud - Remove. Reinstall iCloud from Microsoft Store.

I rely on iCloud to integrate my Outlook calendar with my iPhone and iPad. Not sure what else to try.

I was facing the same issue and after lots of surfing, I finally fixed my problem. Now my iCloud is working fine. Here are a few steps.

1) Press Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box, and then type services.msc and hit Enter. If Win + R does not work just type Services in the search bar and hit Enter.

2) Scroll down the list of services, and then right-click the Bonjour service and select Restart from the context menu.

3) After this just open iCloud and log in.
