Why iPhone 13 is taking 7 MP selfies ?

Hello everyone. When I take a selfie using my new iPhone 13 and then open that picture in the image viewer of the iPhone it shows that the picture was taking in 7 MP.

I'm pretty sure that in the iPhone 13 specs says that the front camera is a 12 MP camera. I can't find how to change it to 12 MP selfies.

Please help.

Hi jacobohidalgo,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. We understand you have questions about taking photos with your front-facing camera, and we'd be happy to help!

To get started, you are correct in that the front-facing camera would be 12MP. To take a selfie in the full 12MP you'd want to tap the arrows in inside the frame to increase the field of view before taking the photo. Take a selfie with your iPhone camera - Apple Support

Let us know if that's able to help.
