Things such as "bitdefender" go out of their way to provide
'false positives' to reinforce an idea of their worth; but with
no exception, the modern macOS has protections beyond
the user's wildest imaginings.
There are other things a user can invite into their macOS:
re: Adware, malware, phishing, scams; pop-ups, and etc.
..Malwarebytes for Mac, past free trial, still helps; and EtreCheck.. are free, both worthy.

It is not a virus and is completely safe, so you wouldn’t have to remove it, but you don’t necessarily need it if you keep your device up to date. You can remove it or keep it. It just depends on if you need it or not.
