Hi, I've a fully formed song recorded on GarageBand and it's mixed and mastered to my satisfaction. However I've thought of a one chord midi effect (Stratosphere) I'd just like to introduce for a couple of bars before what I've already recorded kicks in. Could you please tell me if this is do-able and if so how?

You could create song sections using arrangement Markers. This will allow you insert an additional song section with your intro in front of your finished song arrangement, without disturbing the automation curves.
