My emails are not loading on my new iPad

My emails are not loading on my new Ipad. I set up by connecting with my iphone . the email address i want to use is my Apple ID, how do i connect this to my Mail App?

A. What's an App Password?

Apple Mail is a third-party app. So, you need a specific password.

B. Why App Passwords are Used:

Just think about it: If anyone knew your password, they would get all that info.
