Has anyone else developed a skin irritation from the Apple Watch band and sensor?

One thing you touched on (no pun intended) that many overlook is it’s the _sensor_, not the metallic casing, that’s causing the irritation (at least for me and you).
I reviewed the sensitivity warning at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204665 and I think it may be the charger magnets in/around the sensor.
I put in a call to Apple support and it’s bouncing between product safety and engineering. The engineers said to get a cover for the watch to prevent the metal from touching the skin, but that ignores the claim (and the pictures of the skin irritation) that the irritation is where the ceramic sensor, not the metallic (aluminum) case, touches the skin.
