air tags not recognized as mine

I get constant notifications that an air tag is near me, but it turns out it’s my tags. Shouldn’t my phone know the difference?

I am unable to find AirTag on Find My in iPhone I just set up two air tags on my iPhone. The IOS software is up to date. The setup went normally, and at the end I was able to see the tags on a map. However when I go to my name in setting and click on “find my” there are no items. I reset the air tags and went through the set again, 5 times. I check my location setting on the phone. I reset them. I reset the network settings. I changed the batteries in the tags. Still no “items” in the find my app. I also went through all of this on my iPad to see if the phone was the problem, but same issue. I read somewhere that the version 16 of IOS has a problem with these? If so, I’m going to be really upset as I just bought these two tags and probably can’t return them. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

My air tags which connected in August no longer connect with my iphone. If anyone can help, my air tags won't connect to my iphone. They worked last summer

AirTag isn't showing among my devices My new air tag is paired to my iPhone 13 pro. In the “find my” app it shows up as an item but not in the device list. I toggled WiFi and Bluetooth on and off. I reset and repaired the air tag but it is not showing in devices. I’m running iOS 16.6. I turned the phone on and off but no luck. I hope someone can help. Thanks [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Should, if you activated the AirTag with your iPhone. You may need to reset the AirTags and set them up again. How to reset your AirTag - Apple Support I'm guessing that when you play a sound on this alleged AirTag that is following you is how you determined it is your AirTag and not another one somewhere.

Yes, it played a sound is how I determined my tag was the one following me. I will re-set them and see if that helps. I did set them up with my iPhone
