Is there any way to get rid of a group text message when some on the group are not iPhone users? Messages show up as green. I have tried to help the friend who started the group text to get rid of it and we cannot figure out how to do that.

What does “get rid of” mean exactly?
The entire group message thread can be deleted just as any other message thread.
If you mean something else:

Apparently if there are members of the group that are not iphone users you cannot "leave the conversation. "It does not appear as an option. The messages appear in green. I have started with a new group thread with a name and emoji we want to use instead. Even tho the names are the same the 2 threads have not merged on the iphones of several of us. We can find no way to eleiminate the old group thread. Yes you can delete the conversations but some users texting shows up in the old group thread. I and several others see two group threads while others see only one.
Thank you. yes. That will delete the conversation, but as soon as someone replies the group text is still active. I have clicked on "Hide Alerts" so maybe it will be a little less annoying. It just seems there should be a way to never see the group text again. Even my friend who started the group text has not been able to disband this group conversation.
