From your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the audio playing in the Vimeo app. We’re glad that you reached out to the Apple Support Communities. We want to try and help get you pointed in the right direction.
To clarify, is the sound/audio issue only present in the Vimeo app? If you're unsure open another app and play a video or listen to music to see if you have the same issue. If the problem exists within all apps, try the steps on this page: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac.
If the issue is only within Vimeo, you may want to try the following:
- Open the App Store and check for app updates. If you see any app updates, complete them.
- If you have not tried already, please restart the MacBook Air. Does this help to resolve the issue? Often this simple step will refresh the apps and software on the device to solve numerous problems you may encounter.
