MAC RAM memory full

MAC Pro M1 16" 2021. RAM 32GB. After CleanMyMAC free memory is about 16GB and after about 2 hours fails to 4GB without any activity from my side. No capacity consuming processes or malware found. Similar memory overloading was at previous MAC Air, but there were only 4GB memory. How can i prevent that?

Uninstall CleanMyMac. It is not needed and it interferes with the MacOS memory management.

You paid for 32 GB RAM, why do you not want to use it? Unused RAM is wasted RAM. What do you plan to use unused RAM for?

RAM is dynamic memory that stores often needed data for quick retrieval. If there is nothing in RAM quick retrieval of data is not possible. If data is not in RAM, application response time will be slower because the app will have to retrieve data from the drive rather than from RAM.

You 're absolutely correct for MAC Pro, thank you, but at MAC Air (2012, 4GB) I already had trouble with over loaded memory. Actually, it was the only reason to pass to newest device now. I transferred all data from BackUp from old MAC to new one. My concern is if there may be some malware or wrong setup which may slow the functioning? Antivirus did not find any. Thank you

Hi boris165MAC,

We usually recommend the free version of Malwarebytes to check if any malware is present on your Mac. If neither Malwarebytes or your current anti-virus solution finds any malware, your Mac should be good to go. Just make sure that you're installing the latest updates whenever they are available, and only install software that you trust. (macOS Monterey 12.2.1 was released recently and contains security fixes.)
