Downloaded music not playing on iPhone with iOS 15.4

I am using iOS 15.4 on my iPhone 12 Pro Max 256gb and when I try to listen to music downloaded on my phone (not streaming), the song takes forever to load. Sometimes it’s quicker with some songs and so looonnngg with other songs. Anybody living this? Does this with my Beats Studio 3 connected, Car Play wired thru usb cable… Is it because I use High-Res Lossless music quality?

Thank you all for your help

Apple just isn't what it used to be 😔. It's basically as bad as Microsoft these days. A new update released every other day and each time they do it's an unfinished product full of bugs and issues. Apple never used to be like this 20 years ago!

Hello DJBiggystyle,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your downloaded songs are taking longer to play than expected.

Does this happen when you are not connected to any devices like your Beats or car stereo? Beats wireless headphones use Apple AAC Bluetooth Codec to ensure excellent audio quality. However, Bluetooth connections aren't lossless. So, testing without those connections can help isolate whether this might be related to lossless audio. Check out About lossless audio in Apple Music.

Take care.

Just updated to iOS 15.4 this morning and Music just keeps telling me that an error occurred and won’t let me listen to music at all except for stuff that I’ve purchased/ downloaded or playlists that I’ve made already. There’s no option to use the “Listen Now”, “Browse”, or “Search” features. This renders an app that I pay a monthly fee for basically useless. Unacceptable!

Yes…since the iOS 15.4 update l have had a number of issues on my iPhone SE 2nd Gen - never had problems before.

Not only do tracks skip on Apple Music, but I get an odd hesitation before each one is played.

In additon, my AirPods used to connect almost immediately with my iPhone once I put them in my ear - now there can be quite a delay before they are recognised.

Feels like there are some serious glitches with this update.

This is happening on my HomePods and HomePod mini's too -- since the update to 15.4 it will not play music on my HomePod speakers from my Apple Music library -- i.e., music that I purchased through iTunes. When I say "hey Siri play music from my Apple Music library (a phrase I have used forever)". Siri responds "I am unable to play your music." Additionally, when I stream music from my iPhone to the HomePods it now is unable to pause, stop or skip songs using hey Siri on the HomePods.
