Charge Apple Watch using far more conveniently available USB-A?

How can I charge Apple Watch using far more conveniently available USB-A?

Rec'd Apple Watch gift for Christmas. Don't normally wear a watch tho do like it once in a while.

At least now, I will not wear it daily. I want to store it unattended except when rarely want to use it.

I learn btty will be ruined if uncharged for long time.

To store it on USB-C charging source is unworkable and too inconvenient:

1) I have only one USB-C power source- my MacBookPro but it's in active use otherwise.

2) I bought a USB-A to Apple Watch magnetic adapter cable but it doesn't work:

a) watch doesn't go into charging mode on either of two simple USB charging stations or on USB hub connected to 2018 Mac Mini (though it sort of blinks in and out of charging mode every ~10 seconds.???)

b) its USB-A (?) plug doesn't quite fit the USB-A sockets on my 2018 Mac Mini (square instead of rounded corners?). Further both of my Mac Mini's two USB jacks are always in use.

I'm disgusted by the Apple Watch's charging challenges.

So far it's pretty much a toy that I won't use especially since charging it is such a bother.

You can get a USB-A to USB-C adapter (less than $10 on Amazon)

You can purchase the Series 6, Series 5, Series 4, 3, 2, 1 charging puck that has a USB-A plug.

NOTE: USB-A will not supply sufficient power for "Fast" Charging, as that extra power needs the USB-C standards, but it will charge the Series 7 just fine.

That is the absolute best way. Not just one though.

On Amazon or eBay you can get 3 for the fraction of the price of the USB C charger.

Then you have 3 charging points wherever you want. Instead of just the one with the USB C charger.

Also no need for fast charger the 5w triangular very petite old iPhone charger I have goes from 4% to over 80% in 36 minutes. Only a few minute slower than a 15w USB A folding series 5 charger.

Thank you all for your answers. I had tried a USB-A to watch charger that wouldn’t charge connected to anything. I couldn’t find a charging puck.

After having a purchaser verify that it charges Series 7, I ordered this unit and expect it will charge my Series 7 from connection via USB-A. Though still hoping it will charge from USB-A simple adapter/charger not requiring USB-A on a Mac though it will be ok even if it requires USB-A on a Mac (as USB-A has only 4 contacts I doubt if it makes any difference what the USB-A is connected to- it’s supplying just the 5v.)
