Same Mac, same for me, it appeared after the upgrade to Big Sur.

Looks like it's related to USB / Thunderbolt 2 devices. The less they are, the less it reboots. With just an USB Apple keyboard and 2 USB SSD hard drives (all of them directly connected to the USB ports of the Mac - no hub), mine almost doesn't reboot. Still some MCA errors here and there, especially during the night.

If I need to connect another USB or Thunderbolt device, I make sure to disconnect it before putting the Mac to sleep.

Still some MCA errors here and there, especially during the night.

Anyway, this is clearly an Apple problem. If not, why since the upgrade ? And they certainly won't do anything for it since these Macs are at the end of their life :(

I'm having the same issue for more than 2 months, after upgrading to Monterey I assume.

After seeking solution for a long while, I did a full disassemble of the machine, cleaned up all the cooling system including re-applying thermal paste and POOF. The problem is gone, at least was gone for 2 weeks, until now. Today I came back home and see the same issue again.

So, it seems the problem is overheating on the CPU but I don't know what causes that, I have a brand new cooling system and there was not any apps running to cause an overheating issue.

I got this adopter

https://www.amazon.com/Sintech-Adapter-Upgrade-2013-2015-MacBook/dp/B01CWWAENG

and am using a standard NVMe SSD.

Ok, thanks for the tricks ! The only thing is that my internal Apple SSD is almost full and then I can't partition it. I have a mirror backup of it (made with CCC and allegedly bootable) but I'm not sure it will still be bootable when copied back to the internal SSD since Apple changed the booting rules with Big Sur.
